Partners for Young Children in Island County seeks a short-term, contracted Data Analyst to support the next phase of Help Me Grow Island County’s system-building work. The primary goal of this role is to develop a data harmonization strategy that consolidates, aligns, and standardizes data from key organizations that serve young children and families in Island County.

This work will help reduce reporting burden on partner organizations while establishing a shared framework for evaluating Help Me Grow Island County’s effectiveness and impact. In addition to the harmonization strategy, the Data Analyst will help design an enduring and accessible data system that can be used by a diverse early learning and family-serving network across the county.
Key Responsibilities would include:
Develop a system or framework to house county-wide data that is accessible to partners and supported by clear, best-practice guidance.
Collect, clean, validate, and transform datasets from multiple internal and external partner sources.
Identify and offer solutions for data quality issues such as missing values, inconsistencies, duplicates, and schema mismatches.
Map disparate data formats, structures, and coding systems into unified, standardized schemas.
Align naming conventions, units of measure, and metadata to ensure consistency across partners and systems.
Document data definitions, transformation rules, and harmonization logic to support shared understanding and long-term use.
Develop data governance recommendations, including metadata management and data stewardship practices.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Please email a letter of interest and resume to Katie Watkins at: pyc@whidbeyfoundation.org.
