Northwest Region Military Family Listening Session on Child Care

Military families! We want to hear from you!

Washington Communities for Children (WCFC), Northwest Early Learning Coalition (NWEL), and Partners for Young Children in Island County (PYC) are partnering with others across Washington to inform a statewide plan that aims to reach these two goals:

1. Family’s child care costs are capped at no more than 7% of household income.

2. Our child care workforce is provided living wages and benefits.

As part of this effort, PYC is hosting a listening session designed for Military Families in our 5-county region (Island, Skagit, San Juan, Snohomish, Whatcom) with children birth through age 12 to collect stories and lived experience (anonymously). To thank you for your time, listening session participants can receive a $50 Visa gift card.

The virtual listening session is scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 11am – 12pm.
